Gavin walked out of the Three Broomsticks with Nyssa at his side. He opened his umbrella to protect them from t he heavy rain. "I hope it stops raining soon," Gavin said, "it's a shame that we are gone when the weather is actually nice."

"I know," she said moving closer to him to make sure she didn't get wet. "I'm going to go crazy if this weather keeps up. Going for walks just isn't the same in the rain."

Gavin put an arm around Nyssa's hips and brought her closer to his side, "I don't see how people are crazy for the rain," Gavin said. "It's cold. You bundle up in a lot of clothes... or the snow, the snow, it's okay at first, but it gets old fast," Gavin moved the umbrella away from them, then moved the umbrella back over them. "Sunny weather is the best. Snow and rain can stop you from walks, picnics, running around, sunshine is your friend."

"I don't mind the snow," she said. "It makes it actually quicker to get around the farm with skiing." She leaned her head a bit towards Gavin as they walked.

"I've never been skiing before," Gavin said and put his free hand in his pocket. "The only sport related thing I've done for real is quidditch. I've played little league teams for rugby though."

"I used to do all sorts of sports. I was never very good at them but Colin was athletic so they thought I should be too."

"What's your favorite sport?" Gavin asked and looked around for a nearby clock tower. He noted the time. "We should probably look for a carriage. No, wait. No school tomorrow, we have another hour, never mind," he shook his head.

"To watch, American Football and to play... I guess would be skiing. It was the only sport I was ever really any good at. Yours?" she laughed just remembering herself about the day off. "I had forgotten we had the day off tomorrow. What to do what to do."

"I think I'll spend the time in the common room and relax. Maybe catch up on my studies," Gavin said, "you know we are only a point or two away from Slytherin. We are so close," Gavin said.

"I'm sure we all try our best. We have six days," Gavin said, "maybe if we all do our homework early and turn it in, that will help with points," he tried thinking of more ideas, "maybe we can do some cleaning, or help first years, show spirit! It shouldn't be purely school base."

Gavin smiled at Nyssa, "you think so?" he said. He didn't want that to get to his head, but he felt good hearing that he could make a difference in his house, spirit-wise. "I really do try. I believe you, Nyssa."

"Of course I do!" she turned to look at him hoping he wouldn't let her walk into anything. "They made you a prefect for a reason. And think of how much more house spirit you'll be able to cultivate once you're on the Quidditch team."

Nyssa noticed the time. "Oh my, it can't be 10:30 already. We should be going!" She and Gavin made their way back to the castle.
