Blake watched the color shift in his company's eyes, bewildered. He leaned over and peered into Emery's eyes with ensnared attention and awe, "Wow... how did you do that?"

With a grin his eyes changed to a shimmering, golden shade; then to a burning red; and back to a neutral hazel color. "Easily, I'm a metamorphmagus." he gave Blake a wide smile, amused by the boy's curiosity.

Blake eye's began to shine with wonder, marveling at how easily Emery had just gone through all those colors, "That has to be that neatest thing I have ever witnessed.."

Fred entered to see his mate Emery and a small Slytherin boy he immediately recognized as Blake, the second year he'd danced with by the lake. "Emery! Nice to see you again. What've you been up to? Get in any trouble recently? And Blake! Didn't expect to find you out here in the forest. It's nice to see you getting a break from that potions room of yours."

Blake straightened in his posture and looked to see who had entered their tent- he hadn't expected one of his favorite people. "Fred! I didn't think you were coming! Like I told Lydia earlier, I wouldn't be here if I wasn't ahead."

Fred laughed, "Ahead? I only came because I thought my homework tower too pretty to cut down."

Blake sighed and shook his head, "Always the silly one, you are. I'm heading out, you two. Have fun talking!" Blake waved to Fred and Emery and left the tent.

Emery grinned at Fred's arrival," Oi! How've you been? I haven't seen you lately! And no trouble at all, yet, that's you and your brother's jobs, not mine." He then looked at both Blake and Fred, "You two know each other already? Potions?" Emery's face scrunched up in confusion.

Fred looked around at the bare tent, and realized he didn't have a bed. "Eh? No matter how hard you try, Em, you can't hide your past. You'll always be our comrade. Besides, why would you want to hide that? Ladies love the Marauders..."

Fred spotted a corner of the room where he'd later set up his bed. "Em, you want to do something about this tent? Kind of plain. I'm thinking red and gold would go nicely."

He laughed at Fred's comment and his eyes brightened at the thought, "Not trying to hide it, mate. Just haven't thought of something worth trying yet-- if it ain't risky, then it ain't worth doin."
Emery looked about the tent and nodded, "Yeah, it's lookin a bit on the plain side huh?"

Fred looked around and waved his wand. He transfigured the tents insides, making canopies over each bed, and decorative drapery along the ceiling. With another flick of his wand, Gryffindor house colors stained the fabric, leaving the walls, canopies, blankets, pillowcases, and bed sheets a brilliant Maroon and Gold.

Fred smiled at Emery's reply. "Glad to have you back, mate. I think it's best we get outside. See what opportunities await." With a smirk, he exited the tent with Emery.

"Beautiful," Emery said as he looked at the Gryffindor-esque tent. He got up and shot Fred a mischievous grin before walking out behind him.

Blake walked into the tent and almost collapsed in shock. A lion had rampaged inside of their dorms, the inside of their temporary shelter looking something like what he pictured Gryffindor territory to be. He placed his cat on his cot and reached into his bag for his textbook, bending over and putting his wand back in the holster strapped to his leg. He left the tent, hoping one of the other boys could find reasonable colors when they went to sleep.
