Just a place to talk out of character to one another.
I actually had a question to pose to everyone: Is it me or do most of us that chose third year act older than a third year student would?

Yeah, those of us who are "third years" act way older than a 13/14 year old. I've been thinking about changing it, but I thought it might be a little awkward to change randomly. It's just a year though... However, the way my character acts ranges from a 5th to 7th year.

Mine as well, 'Eya. I think it's the fact that as a person behind the character, I'm older than a 13/14 year old.

Yeah, I see that and do it myself. On the other hand the younger it starts the more stuff you can do over time. It's kind of hard to act 13 though...

That's why I went so young, to have a larger range of things to do, but we're so far past the mentality of a third year that it does get hard. Should we all reconsider, or... what?

What Theo said. It doesn't really bother me so much. I mean it is roleplaying and you have some freedom, so I would be fine either way. It is weird with the Prefect thing but *shrugs*

I definitely don't act as a thirteen year old would. I think we should just not consider age at all in relation to what year you are.

I think you're playing very close to how UK teens act. We come into majority earlier here, we're classed as adults at the age of 16/18 instead of 18/21.

To Mr. Gorey, they are considered adults in the wizarding world around that age, 16 to 18. Right? So perhaps acting so maturely is not necessarily bad.
To Ms. Brookes, that idea seems to have some merit.
To Pans, I find it a bit odd with the Prefect situation as well. I recall I addressed Ms. Smith in a manner of speaking where it almost seemed like I was an adult and she was a much younger student only to discover in reality she is a fifth year later on. It was strange.

Draco - she was a first year and then changed I think. I was confused myself for a while there.

Oh. Was she really? Even curiouser. I wonder why she did that.

I believe it's because she has more fun with the boys now. (Not that I'm complaining Amber)

More fun with the boys, eh? Quite the flirt, aren't you Ms. Smith? It's all in good fun, though. And school, though it's essentially about learning, is fertile ground for relationships.
